Nutritional Therapy
Support for Eating Disorders

Specialist, compassionate
support, for you, or for
someone you love.

Eating disorders are serious and complex conditions. They affect how a person thinks and feels about food, eating, weight and their body, and they can affect anyone, at any stage of life. Recovery is possible. And the right nutritional support can be a meaningful part of that journey.

I'm Debbie Gallimore

I’m a BANT-registered nutritional therapist with specialist training in eating disorder nutritional support. I work with
individuals and families across the UK, online and in-person in Cheshire, providing a safe, non-judgemental space to work towards a healthier relationship with food and eating.

Whether you’re looking to support someone you care about, or you’re here for yourself.

YOU’VE FOUND A SAFE PLACE TO START

You’re welcome just as you are

You may have a diagnosis, or have been struggling for a long time without one. You may have been on an NHS waiting list, or tried support before that didn't feel quite right. Whatever brought you here, you don't need to explain yourself or justify reaching out. You're welcome here as you are.

Support that genuinely helps

Watching someone you love struggle with an eating disorder Is a huge mental load to carry. It can be hard to know what to do, who to contact, or how to help without making things worse. I work with families too, helping you understand what your loved one is experiencing and how to support them in a way that genuinely helps.

Eating disorders I specialise in supporting

I have specialist training in the nutritional aspects of the
following DSM-5 eating disorders:

ANOREXIA NERVOSA

Severe restriction of food intake, often accompanied by intense fear of weight gain and a distorted experience of body image.

BULLIMIA NERVOSA

Cycles of binge eating followed by compensatory behaviours such as purging, fasting or excessive exercise.

AVOIDANT & RESTRICTIVE FOOD INTAKE DISORDER

Significant restriction of food based on sensory sensitivity, fear of
adverse consequences, or lack of interest in eating, without the
body image concerns seen in other eating disorders.

ORTHOREXIA

An obsessive focus on "healthy" or "clean" eating that becomes harmful, rigid and controlling, though not yet a formal DSM-5 diagnosis, the nutritional and psychological impact is very real.

OTHER SPECIFIED FEEDING OR EATING DISORDER

A diagnosis that captures clinically significant eating disorder
symptoms that don't meet the full criteria for the above conditions.
B.E.D (BINGE EATING DISORDER) Recurrent episodes of compulsive overeating, accompanied by feelings of loss of control and distress, without compensatory behaviours.

If you're unsure whether what you or your loved one is experiencing fits any of these descriptions, please don't let that stop you from getting in touch. Many people spend years without a clear diagnosis.

What nutritional therapy can offer in eating disorder support

THIS IS NOT ABOUT MEAL PLANS OR DICTATING WHAT YOU NEED TO EAT

Eating disorders are not simply about food, but food is always part of the picture. Nutritional therapy addresses the physical dimension of
recovery: rebuilding a safe and sustainable relationship with eating, restoring nutritional status where needed, and understanding the way food affects mood, cognition and physical health. This is not about meal plans handed over at a first appointment, or being told what to eat. It's a collaborative, respectful process , at a pace that works for you.

Depending on your situation, our work together might include:

Gently exploring your current relationship with food, eating and your body, without pressure or judgement
Addressing nutritional deficiencies that can affect mood, concentration, energy and recovery
Building a flexible, sustainable approach to eating that supports your life
Working alongside your existing clinical team (GP, therapist, psychiatrist or CAMHS) as part of a joined-up approach
Supporting families with practical guidance on how to help at mealtimes and beyond

A careful, individual approach to every person

There is no standard protocol here. Eating disorders are deeply individual, shaped by personal history, personality, co-occurring conditions, and circumstances, and support
needs to reflect that.

Before anything else, we talk. A free 20-minute discovery call gives us both the chance to understand whether working together feels right. There is no pressure and no obligation. If I don't feel I'm the right fit for your needs, for example, if a higher level of clinical care is needed, I will tell you honestly and help you find the right next step.

I work with clients at different points in their journey: some are seeking support while on an NHS waiting list, some are in recovery and wanting to consolidate progress, and some are working alongside an existing clinical team who have recommended additional nutritional support. All are welcome.

Work with me

Following our initial discovery call, we'll agree a package length and structure that fits you. Programmes begin at 8 weeks.

medical background, at a pace that feels safe
Regular one-to-one sessions to review progress and adapt your approach
A personalised, phased nutritional support plan developed collaboratively with you
Liaison with your clinical team where appropriate and with your consent
Ongoing support and a consistent, trusted point of contact throughout

“Debbie has helped me move towards my health goals, while also building a healthier relationship with food and with myself. During our sessions, Debbie guided me through my food choices, reasons and triggers. Ultimately, I have achieved not the ”idealised and completely unrealistic being, but a health status that is real, compassionate and true to myself"

A note for families & carers

If you're searching on behalf of someone you love, you are probably carrying a great deal right now. The concern, the uncertainty, the careful conversations, it's a heavy thing to hold.

I offer a space for families too: to understand what your loved one may be experiencing, to ask the questions you're not sure how to ask elsewhere, and to find ways to offer support that genuinely helps rather than inadvertently harms.

Getting in touch doesn't commit you or your loved one to anything. It's simply a conversation.

Specialist training, genuine care

AND I CAN HELP YOU

I'm Debbie Gallimore, a BANT-registered nutritional therapist and
wellbeing coach based in Cheshire, with specialist training in eating
disorder nutritional support. I work with clients online across the UK
and in-person in the Cheshire and Manchester area.

Eating disorder work requires more than general nutrition knowledge. It requires clinical sensitivity, an understanding of the psychological
complexity of these conditions, and a commitment to working collaboratively rather than prescriptively. It's an area I take seriously, both in terms of ongoing training and in terms of the care I bring to every person I work with.
